University of Michigan careers fair

01 December 2018

We’re proud to have partnered with the University of Michigan for their 2020 Fall Advertising, Marketing, Media and Entertainment Career Fair. This career fair was the second fully virtual fair that the University of Michigan has put together during COVID-19.

Highlighting the importance of pivoting to virtual career fairs, Kerin Borland, University of Michigan Director said, “These months of navigating the impact of COVID have brought with them many changes. What has not changed is the need for organizations to continue to build their brands on college campuses and continue to grow diverse talent pipelines. Virtual career fairs provide employers with a cost effective way of making meaningful connections with quality candidates, while saving on staff travel and time. While the virtual career fair environment is new to all stakeholders (employers and candidates) it is proving a successful strategy for sourcing talent in these uncharted times.’

Imagination spoke with 22 students individually and also participated in a virtual “drop-in” room where up to 49 students could join at once to ask questions and learn more about Imagination and future career opportunities.

Alistair Wilson, Managing Director and Global Client Lead said, “I am always so impressed with the strength of candidates at U of M and their character. Despite the challenges of this time we always keep a lookout for the best new talent joining the jobs market, we were very impressed with the candidates we met.”

We’re pleased that we were able to speak to students and answer their questions not only about career opportunities at Imagination but also about navigating the career field during COVID-19 and how that has changed business operations.
