Experiences that made me Jake Bradley

October 30, 2024

In this series, we ask Imagination talent all about the experiences that have made them who they are. This month we spoke to Jake Bradley, Associate Producer from our Melbourne studio.

A bit about me…

I’m a bit of an all-rounder. As a self-proclaimed nerd, I have a love for gaming and sci-fi (Star Wars and Marvel in particular), and I’m secretly a huge WWE fan. I’m also a big foodie – I’ll try anything, and lately, I’ve been exploring Korean and Japanese cuisines. However, a recent trip to Europe may have me reconsidering my favourites! I’ve taken up running for fitness, though it’s more a necessity than a passion (I won’t be running marathons anytime soon).

The creative experience that influenced me the most…

Earlier this year, I attended Melbourne Fashion Week, and it was an eye-opener. I was struck by the sheer creativity on display, from the attendees to the designers. The experience really made me appreciate the environment in which creative minds thrive. While I may not consider myself particularly creative, I’m motivated to help create spaces where others can shine.

My industry hero is…

I don’t have a single industry hero, but I’m constantly inspired by the team here at Imagination Australia. The talent around me is incredible, and I don’t think they always realise just how high the bar is set. I’m learning so much from them and aspire to keep growing alongside such a passionate group.

The piece of work I’m most proud of…

I’ve only been at Imagination for about six months, but I’ve been fortunate enough to work on some amazing projects. The highlight so far has been Telstra’s Frontline, which was my first experience as a producer on a large-scale event. Which was an awesome experience, the client was so impressed with us delivering this event at such a high level year after year. I was able to assist my manager Ashlee in all the operations of the event, which was challenging but also grew me so much and am excited for the rollout next year.

The experience I wish I had created…

I was blown away by the production at “Knockout Outdoor” in Sydney. A friend of mine attended, and the scale and execution of that event were beyond impressive. It’s definitely something I wish I had been a part of.

Advice to my 18-year-old self…

Failure is the greatest motivator for change.

What’s next?

I’m really excited about a project we’re gearing up for in 2025. I can’t say specifically what it is about, but I’m very interested to see how we will pull together these multiple events, growing upon each of them over the first half of the year. Stay tuned for more!

For the things worth sharing, we’ve got a newsletter for that.
