For the second consecutive year, the Imagination team was delighted to assist Luminar with the design and build of its presence at CES, showcasing plans to accelerate the development of advanced safety and autonomous vehicle capabilities.
We created an intriguing “jewel box” structure for the invitation-only booth, with glowing entry points. The structure held a private catered lounge and meeting spaces. The closed design approach intrigued passers-by while maintaining privacy for the important meetings within.
The public front-of-house area presented the United States debut of the Volvo EX90, which uses Luminar’s lidar technology to enable next-generation safety. A giant LED screen behind the vehicle displayed a live feed of the Lidar from the vehicle. As a result, visitors to the booth could see themselves walking past, creating a fun photo op.
We also assisted Luminar with their live on-track vehicle demonstrations in the outdoor demo area, where visitors could experience the company’s lidar-powered Proactive Safety system in collision avoidance simulations. The outdoor exhibit featured the North American debut of SAIC’s Rising Auto R7, the first commercially available production vehicle equipped with Luminar’s Iris lidar.
