Smiling Stars 2017
Shell has enough staff to populate a small city, with over 90,000 employees around the world. With plenty of innovation, collaboration and talent – both creative and technological – across the business, Smiling Stars is a chance for the Shell community to celebrate the core part of what has made it the giant in the oil industry it is today: its people.
Imagination has enjoyed working with Shell for 10 years, and set to work planning the latest and greatest Smiling Stars ceremony back in September 2016, with over one thousand staff and franchisees flying into New York from all corners of the globe from 5 to 9 July.
Celebrations kicked off with a bang – a welcome evening complete with fireworks on Ellis Island, followed by a business conference at the Hilton Midtown and a bedazzling awards evening at the New York Stock Exchange and Cipriani on Wall Street.
The extravaganza was rounded off with a gala dinner at Duggal Greenhouse – a utilitarian space in the heart of Brooklyn that was transformed into a scene out of Central Park for the occasion.
No good party would be complete without an after party, and as the dinner concluded, Smiling Stars made their way to one of New York's most iconic rooftop bars overlooking the Empire State Building.
