In a substantial bid to drive UK advertising globally, Advertising Association has joined forces with the Department for International Trade (DIT) and the IPA to launch Export Month. Across March 2019 a rich series of wider activities will also feature Shanghai International Advertising Festival (SHIAF) on March 04 - 08 and South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas from March 08 onwards.

SHIAF is a forum enabling the intersection where Chinese agency peers meet with UK advertising expertise to explore new opportunities for collaboration. An accomplished fusing together of UK agencies,  SHIAF is led by Promote UK chair, Janet Hull and Advertising Association Chief Executive, Stephen Woodford.

We are delighted to announce a global list of Imagineers invited to take part in the avant-garde programme in Shanghai:
Christophe Castagnera - Director of Innovation and Connected Experiences, EMEA
Sam McMorran - Group Creative Director, China
John Steere - Managing Director, China

Christophe and Sam will be sharing their insights on Marketing strategies for international growth in their talk on "How to bring digital and real world brand experiences to life". Our MD for China, John will be part of a panel discussing growth opportunities as part of the "Setting up in China and the UK" segment of SHIAF.  The event will close with this year’s SHIAF Awardee, for which Sam McMorran has recently completed judging (take a look at our recent News piece for full details here).

Following on from this, our Detroit based teams will head over to SXSW. This year, UK advertising will feature its own day for the first time. The initiative is backed by DIT and curated by the IPA as part of its ongoing Promote UK campaign.

As we move closer into Export Month, Stephen Woodford, Chief Executive, Advertising Association, shares:
‘Export Month will act as a celebration of what we do best in UK advertising – a multinational workforce servicing a global client-base via a winning combination of creativity, innovation and technological expertise.’

For now, we look forward to SHIAF in anticipation of expanded collaboration efforts with global implications.
