For the 90th Academy Awards, the Imagination New York team delivered the ‘Film is Great’ reception, held in celebration of British nominees.

The UK consistently has the second-largest number of nominees (the US being first) from both in-front of and behind the camera, and the reception has become a fixture of Oscar week, with strong attendance from A-list talent.

Building on the success of the 2017 event, Imagination worked closely with the Department of International Trade. Hosted at the British Consul General's Residence, the space was branded at all key points to provide a consistent journey from the Red Carpet to the interior. The British theme was brought to life by graphic language and design cues of a contemporary Union Jack in neon lights. Along with the colours and lines of the flag, a bespoke light installation inspired by the beams generated from a film projector created a dramatic backdrop for an interactive photo opportunity on social media using #FilmIsGREAT throughout the night.

The ‘Film is Great' reception is part of the Great Britain Campaign, which showcases the best of what our whole nation has to offer to inspire the world.
