We're proud to have been part of this year's BIMA Digital Day with IT students from William Morris Sixth Form.

The aim of the day is to give students a taste of what it's like to work in the digital world and we hope that in time initiatives like this will help combat the skills shortage that's currently costing the UK £21.8 billion.

The only digital initiative of its kind, BIMA Digital Day gives 13-16 year olds an insight into a world of digital careers. As part of the day, students complete one of three sponsored challenges for a chance to be crowned BIMA Digital Day champions – winning £500 cash for their school plus a host of cool prizes.

After a presentation introducing Imagination, our work and thinking, the sixth formers were set a task in groups that asked them to come up with a digital solution to a problem. The problems ranged from how to reduce plastic to how to introduce Wimbledon to a younger demographic. Helping the students come up with a commercial and creative digital solution where a number of creatives from across Imagination.

At the end of the day the students presented their ideas back, and we chose a winner - which was hard given the high standard of work!

Overall it was a great day for everyone that took part and it's fair to say we all learnt a lot and loads of fun working alongside such talented, and bright young adults. Make sure to watch the video above to get a snapshot of what went on.
