Digital Project Director

Overview

Role Overview:

This role demands an organised and experienced Digital Project Director project managing concepts from ideation to software delivery. Projects may range from interactive, content/film, VR, CGI and 360 film, RFID, QR, social media and mobile applications, always within the context of a fully integrated experience.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • To be the primary point of contact for delivery on individual projects, working on multiple projects in different stages of delivery at any given time; or to deliver individual elements of a larger programme of work, reporting into the Digital Production Director - Studio
  • To lead and manage the Digital Project Managers within the team (Studio or Freelance) to get the most effective and creative output from the Digital Technical/Developer, UX and Creative teams.
  • Work with the Studio’s to leverage our supplier network to support creation and delivery of digital experiences. To build strong relationships with our global and local clients as a trusted digital expert and partner
  • To act as initial point of escalation
  • Identify and manage risk, communicating potential impacts and mitigation to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure you and your team provide regular status updates to the Digital Client Director and Studio’s Digital Production Director

Scoping

  • Liaise closely with Client Services teams and clients to capture requirements and ensure full engagement and satisfaction throughout each milestone of each project
  • To enforce the use of User Story lead requirements capture - using this as a communication tool to allow the client services and developers to fully understand the brief
  • To ensure all solutions are fully scoped within the agreed department methodology with the Creative and Technical teams, ensuring they can be delivered within time and budget constraints
  • To ensure all projects are supported by thorough, accurate, clear and concise documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • To promote and refine our approach to lean/agile process, working with the business to strive for continuous improvement
  • Maintain an up-to-date Our Way file for each project (subject to regular audits)
  • To identify and engage project teams, including external partners and freelance resources
  • Enforce the Digital Production Framework within Cream Team, ensuring standards, process and tools are adhered too within all digital Cream Team projects

Content Creation

  • Scoping, messaging, mood/tone of voice, concepts, content, storyboards, design, scripts, audio, photography, film, and motion graphics
  • Engaging with internal teams within Connected Experience (Creative, Edit Suites, Writers)
  • Engaging with supplier networks for support or bespoke content requirements (e.g. film crews, VR studios, 360 film)
  • To motivate all members of project teams to be their best, and to enable excellence through a supportive environment

Software Build

  • Developing activations as products, which are always on, rather than planning them as one-off installations
  • Wireframes and UX sign off pre-build
  • Engaging our software test supplier at the inception point of the project
  • Ensuring the test scripts match the requirements of the project
  • Ensuring the iterations from QA to the next release happen in a trackable way, maintaining release control at all times
  • Engaging our suppliers with the correct level of scoping documentation
  • To be hands-on and manage all aspects of a project as required, including scoping, strategy, UX, creative development and technical development, testing and deployment (incl. on-site attendance if required)
  • To motivate all members of project teams to be their best, and to enable excellence through a supportive environment

Schedule/Budget/Resource

  • To ensure quality and on-time and on-budget delivery of projects
  • To develop high level and low level schedules depending on the projects needs
  • Actively manage budgets, controlling cost and tracking revenue
  • To ensure third party and freelance resources are engaged through approved channels, with appropriate contracts and funding in place prior to work starting
  • To assist in the induction of production staff, arranging (and at times carrying out) training in Imagination systems and processes
  • Fulfilling the role in compliance with company policies and procedures, for example (but not limited to) ISO documentation, Digital Project Governance Standards and Information Security training
